SHAKTHIDHAR V R - Bansuri

 

Shakthidhar, born on 7th December 1979 was fascinated by the Baansuri in his early childhood. He started his initial training under Pt. K S Naik of Bangalore and studied under him for 8 years. Later he was invited to teach Flute at the Late PK Salve Academy of Music and Fine Arts, Nagpur. During this time he learnt under eminent violinist of Nagpur, Pt. Prabhakar Dhakde and had guidance in the instrumental style from Sitarist Sri Avaneendra Sheolikar.  Shakthidhar had the privilege of listening to Pt. Rajendra Prasanna at a concert in Nagpur. Touched by the sweetness and Gayaki ang presentation of Panditji he decided to shift to Delhi and learn from Panditji. He learnt under Pt. Rajendra Prasanna in the traditional ‘Gurushishya Parampara’ for 6years and still continues to learn from Panditji.

Apart from winning competitions he has also been performing at various platforms around the country. The prominent ones are International Sahaja Yoga Seminar, Ratnagiri 1998; Concerts in presence of Her Holiness Mataji Shri Nirmala Devi, Delhi1999; French Cultural Festival at French Embassy, Delhi 2001; International Sahaja Yoga Seminar, Ganapatipule, Maharashtra 2003; Central University, Hyderabad, 2004; Chilean Embassy, New Delhi 2006; Mayo College, Ajmer 2006; Hindustani Kalakaar Mandali, Bangalore 2007;  Layakari, Bangalore 2009; Concert in memory of the legend of Kirana Gharana Savai Gandharva, Kundgol 2010.

B K RAGHU - Violin

B K Raghu started learning violin at the age 8 years. He has performed at various prestigious sabhas all over Bangalore, India and abroad.

  • Recipient of the “Kishora Prathibhe” award from the Karnataka Government and “Ananya Puraskara” award from Ananya ( a prestigious sabha, well known for encouraging young artistes)
  • An “A” graded artiste from the All India Radio, Bangalore.
  • Performed in the presence of Dr. Abdul Kalam, the then President of India.
  • Was awarded as the Best Solo Performer at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja music concert competition.
  • Won second prize from the Madras Music Academy
  • Has performed during important music festivals at various cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai.
  • Received scholarship from C.C.R.T. New Delhi (Center for Cultural Resources and Training
  • Performed at the Tanzania and Dubai Music festivals

ADAMYA R - Mridangam

Drawn to rhythm from a very young age, ADAMYA R. owes his rhythmic inclinations to his grandfather Sri. P.Pundareeka Bhat, a well-known Mridangam artist of Shringeri. Music runs in the family, his mother being well-known Veena artist Smt. Geetha Ramanand and father Sri. P.Ramanand, a music-lover. Adamya was initiated into the art of Mrudangam-playing at the age of six by Karnataka Kalashree Vid.M.A.Krishnamurthy, who guided him in his musical voyage for over fourteen years. He is now undergoing advanced training under the Mrudangam maestro Padmavibhushana Awardee Sangeethakalanidhi Umayalpuram Sri K Sivaraman.

Adamya showed promise at a very young age, qualifying for the scholarship from the Center for Cultural Resource and Training, when he was of 11 years. He also participated in several prestigious solo and concert competitions held by various organizations and stood first. He won the first place in the National level Music competitions conducted by All India Radio in the year 2003. He is a ‘B High’ grade artiste of AIR, Bangalore. He is also a recipient of the scholarship from the Dept of Culture, Government of India.  

MANJUNATH N S - Drums & Percussions

Trained under the able guidance of Vidwan B.S.Sukumar, Vidwan Ullur Nagendra Udupa & Vidwan S.V.Giridhar, Manjunath has accompanied great musicians like Amit Heri, Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Aruna Sairam, T.V.Balasai, Jayanthi Kumaresh, M.S.Sheela, Raghu Dixit, Kasaravalli Sisters and world fusion teams like Layataranga to name a few, in the music circuit.

He has given percussion support for various forms of Indian classical dance performances and directions of Smt.Maya Rao, Late.Smt.Padmini Rao, Smt.Usha Datar, Yamini Muttappa, Sri.Sridhar and Smt.Anuradha Sridhar, Pratibha Prahalad, Padmini Ramachandran, Vasundara Doreswamy etc.

Manju is the pioneer member of an Indi-pop band CHIGURU which is a well known and a favorite band among the youth in the city. CHIGURU released its album HRUDAYADINDA in 2006. By performing at prestigious shows, the band has set the stage with mind-blowing performances twice, SONU NIGAM show at Bangalore Palace Grounds, 2007 & SHANKAR MAHADEVAN show at APS school grounds, September 2007

ASHWIN P KUMAR - Keyboards

Ashwin is a young, well-known Keyboardist in current Light Music & Fusion Music field. With a keen interest and self-learning motivation, he has been practicing the Keyboard for about 12 years and has performed with numerous well known artists of the day. 

 

Ashwin has featured in various television programmes with Udaya TV, Doordarshan, Chandana & radio programmes with the All India Radio. Some of his noteworthy performances include program in the presence of the Dr. Abdul Kalam (President of India), Mr. S.M. Krishna (Chief Minister of Karnataka), Mr. H.D. Kumarswamy (Chief Minister of Karnataka), etc. He has rendered support to re-recordings of TV serials and various music albums (devotional, bhaavageethe, dance ballet recordings). Ashwin is also the Music Composer & Director for various short films (which include the educational series under DSERT, Govt. of Karnataka).

 The Vidyouth Fusion team comprises artists from 3 varied styles of Music-Hindustani Classical, Carnatic Classical and Western Music. The team ventures to bring together these three forms of Music and create a unique fusion of its own. All the artists have received wide acclaim in their respective fields and together they bring out the best of their respective forms, which like three streams merge together to form a mighty river of rich soulful music. The team believe is performing its own compositions and these compositions have received critical acclaim for their technical prowess and the audience appeal. The Vidyouth fusion team believes that its music is ever changing and has a fresh taste every time.

 Vidyouths music has been widely appreciated by audiences in the country and abroad. They have been invited to perform at Classical Music sabhas as well as corporate shows and other functions alike and have been successful in impressing all types of Audiences. Vidouth was invited to Dubai to perform for the UAE Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. They have performed extensively locally and nationally and have carved a niche for themselves as a young and vibrant team of talented Musicians.
